I believe it was actually my complaint that got this going or at least contributed to it. I filed the complaint with the Consumer Bureau last spring who then stated it would be better to file it with the Ontario Security Commission. The OSC case number is 201604250-24367 regards my complaint regarding RBC and 20160519-25314 regarding Imperial Oil and the affidavit evidence I provided shows non-disclosure of risks regarding both companies and Climate Change. The affidavit is in the attachments along with Attachment 10 of that report which proves beyond the shadow of a doubt that these risks are real.
The case went to the Ontario Security Commission, It was then forwarded to Alberta Security and Exchange Commission who refused to review it. Their response is in the attachments.
It went to the Authorite Des Marches Financiers who mailed me a letter and stated it was not in their jurisdiction to review so it was then sent to the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions and I tried to open up the case with them but then they advised me to raise the concern with the Financial Consumer Agency of Canada which I did. That email is in the attachments.
Today I see the article and I honestly believe it reflects the result of these actions which is wonderful to see.
My goal is to protect Sovereignty funds, universities, pension funds and investors by assuring reasonable disclosure to mitigate financial risks. The sooner we can do that the sooner we can cut losses for everyone. It's a stitch in time that can save nine. This announcement makes me hopeful that we can secure reasonable compliance to help avert both the fiscal and ecological risks associated with Climate Change.
