Hi Folks,

Call in with questions and concerns now!

Mike Farwell 570 News Special Show On Wilmot Land Assembly - 11am to 1pm Today! - We still don’t have much information or even know who the special mystery Councillor is going to be to talk to the Wilmot Land Assembly (or why now after so many months a Councillor can finally speak out on things - unless the NDA was a sham from the onset…). However, starting at 11:00am this morning (Thursday, Aug 8th), Mike Farwell is going to be doing a special show dedicated to the Wilmot Land Assembly. Tune in a 570 AM or online at:

The Wilmot land assembly project will be front and centre on The Mike Farwell Show, Thursday.

In a special two-hour segment, Mike will be joined by a regional councillor who is ready to answer questions about the controversial project.

The councillor, whose name is being kept a secret for now, will be on the show from 11:00 to 1:00, and phone lines will be open to take your calls.

Mike says the land assembly has generated a lot of passion on the show in recent weeks, and he hopes these two hours will give you the chance to get some important questions answered.

The Region of Waterloo is expropriating 770 acres of farmland in Wilmot Township to be shovel-ready for any future industrial use.

Robert Flack, Ontario’s Minister of Agriculture, Food and Agribusiness, was in Cambridge on Wednesday, and told 570 NewsRadio he is not aware of any specific industry or company lined up to use the farmland.

“Not that I know of. What this is, is a land assembly for future projects down the road. We’re a growing province that’s grown by over two million people in the last two years. We need to create jobs — we’re doing a great job of that.”

Flack said the province is supporting the purchase of the land financially, but he could not provide a dollar value for how much his government is putting in.

You can listen live to the Mike Farwell Show, starting at 9 a.m., on 570 NewsRadio – or through the listen live page here <https://kitchener.citynews.ca/audio/>.
