Norah Chaloner in Guelph, who worked with GREN and Council of Canadians for many years has just won the Huge Whiteley lifetime achievement award for her efforts to protect the water in the Canadian Great Lakes Basin.

The annual Hugh Whiteley LifetimeAchievement Award celebrates the activism, advocacy, and dedication ofremarkable individuals to protecting water in the Canadian Great LakesBasin.
Norah Chaloner has been a leadingadvocate for water and environmental issues for well over 20 years,and has been a central (and humble) factor in establishing andbringing people to some of our community's most vital water &environmental advocacy organizations.
Over her life, she has contributedto water protection through various campaigns against pipelines, megaquarries, development, water privatization, and water bottling, toname a few. Moreover, she has continually pushed the education,engagement, and empowerment of others to find their own voice inenvironmental advocacy.
Help us celebrate the extraordinary contributions of NorahChaloner to water advocacy at the Hugh Whiteley Lifetime AchievementAward ceremony, taking place this Monday, March 22nd - World Water Day- at 7pm.
