Subject: City of Kitchener Draft New Zoning By-law (Component B)

On May 30th the first draft of a new Zoning By-law (Component B) will be tabled at a Kitchener committee of Council in order to get Council’s direction to undertake community and stakeholder engagement. No formal decisions will be made at this meeting. The new Zoning By-law will be delivered over several components. The Comprehensive Review of the Zoning By-law (CRoZBy project) components include:
 
 
The tabling of the first draft of the new Zoning By-law (Component B) on May 30th will launch the formal public review and commenting period which will go until August 2016. Two public presentation and drop-in sessions will be held on June 22nd and 28th from 4-8p.m. at City Hall in the Conestoga Room (Ground Floor). The purpose of these sessions is to provide highlights of the CRoZBy process and First Draft through a staff presentation. Staff will also be available to answer questions and receive comments. Written comments will be accepted until August 26th, 2016 through the following email: crozby at kitchener.ca.
 
Since the conclusion of the commenting period  on the first draft of Component A of the new Zoning By-law in June 2015, staff has been reviewing all comments received. This process is ongoing and will include further dialogue with property owners and stakeholders prior to the release of subsequent drafts of Component A. The timing of further communications regarding Component A is still being determined.
