Brian Gilvesy of Y U Ranch Named Food Tank Hero

Y U RanchR proprietor Bryan Gilvesy was named among 17 Farmer Heroes for
Sustainability, Equality, and Defense of Traditions by U.S.-based
not-for-profit, FoodTank whose work is focused on "building a global
community for safe, healthy, nourished eaters." FoodTank recognized
seventeen farmers from eleven countries around the world for their work to
support innovation, sustainability, the environment, and local economy.  In
honouring Bryan Gilvesy, Food Tank noted his role as ecological agriculture
champion in Ontario, the sustainable ranching practices of Y U Ranch, and
his active work with Alternative Land Use Services (ALUS), which supports
farmers in restoring and preserving natural resources throughout Canada.
