Dear Friend,
Talking about climate change with a group of smart, inquiring people leaves me hopeful.
I had the chance to do this recently with a group of lawyers. We met in an office building that is cooled by water from Lake Ontario. This kind of geo-thermal energy is only one low-cost, renewable form of energy that we should be using if we are to cope with climate change.
Their concern about climate change is what drew this particular group together. They get it. They know efficiency costs three cents per kwh and beats every other energy option, economically and environmentally. Compare that to new nuclear costs of 15 cents and more per kwh.
>As I told the lawyers, it takes everyone, not just engineers and scientists, to make sure we have an energy future.
>Sincerely,
>PeterTabuns, MPP
