Lulu the 20 days will NOT pass peacefully It was pointed out to me at the last Regional meeting by Jim Wideman and Tom Galloway that the Objectors were NOT at the meeting and therefore they wiil ,probably Take us to the OMB....and I was assured that the reason they voted negatively was to defer the cost of the OMB to which I responded that they were going to take us to the OMB anyway if they could not Bully us into giving them what they wanted no matter what the harm to our drinking water and the survival of this community. Watch for the announcement . God help us. Ginny

THE NEW ROPP IS APPROVED by MMAH
July 19, 2010 the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing officially declaired the new Regional Official Planning Policy approved by the province. Details are in the attachments. If there is to be anyone contesting the decision at the OMB, (regarding country side line etc.) it must take place within the next 20 days, Let's hope 20 days passes peacefully!
OPA vs. Environmental Commissioner over cuts to Solar Power payments.
Province cuts funding for solar power
Energy minister Brad Duguid caused an uproar July 2 when he announced that the Ontario Power Authority will only pay 58.8 cents per kilowatt hour for electricity from small, ground-mounted solar projects of 10 kilowatts or less. (The province originally committed to 80.2 cents per kilowatt hour.)

In response, the Environmental Commissioner demanded to see the financial assumptions used by the Ontario Power Authority to justify its price cut.

The Environmental Commissioner researched this issue and found some "funny math" being done by the Ontario Power Authority.

Apparently there will be "clarification on details" from the OPA tomorrow. In the meantime...
