THE NEW ROPP IS APPROVED by MMAH
 
July 19, 2010 the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing officially declaired the new Regional Official Planning Policy approved by the province. Details are in the attachments.  If there is to be anyone contesting the decision at the OMB, (regarding country side line etc.) it must take place within the next 20 days, Let's hope 20 days passes peacefully!
 
 
OPA vs. Environmental Commissioner over cuts to Solar Power payments.
 
Province cuts funding for solar power
Energy minister Brad Duguid caused an uproar July 2 when he announced that the Ontario Power Authority will only pay 58.8 cents per kilowatt hour for electricity from small, ground-mounted solar projects of 10 kilowatts or less. (The province originally committed to 80.2 cents per kilowatt hour.)

In response, the Environmental Commissioner demanded to see the financial assumptions used by the Ontario Power Authority to justify its price cut.
