Hi Susan,
I got your message on Facebook. Sorry I didn’t respond quicker but I
don’t go on FB very often. I do much better with email and text and
phone, all numbers which are included here. I just left you a phone
message but I’ll repeat what I said.
Yes, I do web development and making a website for an organization like
GREN is right up my alley. I am affordable, fast, and well-trained. I
tend to build fully responsive (scalable to all devices),
user-customizable, functional sites.
As well as my constantly evolving personal music site
(www.scottwicken.com <http://www.scottwicken.com>), one of my early
sites that arose out of a college project was Old Goat Books
(www.oldgoatbooks.com <http://www.oldgoatbooks.com>). I designed a
browser based system to input all of the books into a database, a search
engine, a system to put books on hold, a daily upload to ABEbooks.com, a
blogging section (which is unfortunately underused) and contact forms.
An early, and constantly evolving, site I still work on is Bhima’s
Warung (www.bhimaswarung.com <http://www.bhimaswarung.com>). Originally,
the website featured a menu that was fully editable by a manager, an
admin section, login/logout forms, and a photo gallery. Since COVID, I
have been very active in setting up multiple takeout menus and shopping
carts. Due to the changing landscape of restaurant and retail, their
website can hide and show various menus based on what is ‘safe’ at the
moment. So, the ability to make a reservation, display a dine-in menu,
or a takeout menu, or special menus like Valentine’s Day, or the
Superbowl, can all be shown or hidden. I have also set up a form for
reservations. They can also change the notices that pop up when you
arrive at the site so that they don’t have to hire me every time they
want to make an announcement.
The last website that I built was for a recording studio in Nanton,
Alberta (www.steveloree.com <http://www.steveloree.com>). He wanted a
very basic site that showcased his multiple talents/services, previous
projects that he has worked on, contact page etc. I’m pretty happy with
it. It is a very clean and straight-forward site.
Currently, I am working on a local songwriters page and I am also
working on a webpage in Victoria BC for an organization the does theatre
with people with disabilities. They are going to need to put lots of
videos online, host live video etc… that’s going to be fun.
It sounds like I am doing a lot, but I actually do have lots of time
available right now to take on your project if I am what you need. I’d
love to talk about what that is.
Have a great day,
Scott Wicken
