Hi all,
Yes, I included the link to GreenPAC in my first email. :-) I wanted to
know if anyone else had heard of them, or who they are. The only
response I've had to my email inquiry was that they received it.
But, having a forum was suggested at the Environmental Defence "Ontario
is not for sale" event recently and they said they could connect us, so
I'm trying that route now. I'm completely supportive of working with an
existing effort. Based on what I can see, we have to organize the
debates, but then their website would list us as having one. They list
by riding rather than region, but I don't think we have the capacity to
do that - as much as I'd like to.
Another thought is to have someone from our respective groups
interviewing each candidate for 10 minutes or so, rather than having a
big public event. All we need is a location in each riding where we
invite all the candidates for their time-slot, someone to interview,
someone to film - even my cellphone takes great videos - and a place to
post the videos.
Someone did that, but longer interviews, for the last municipal election
I believe, and it's good. Nice to have a record to hold the eventual
victor to account. ;-)
