Good idea, Susan.
I just worked this week with Patrick - the student we tasked with the re-vamping of our website - we started porting the code to the gren.ca domain.  I hope to be able to report back soon on the progress.

She has co-authored a book which I said I could review for the paper. She’s very interested in environmental issues and is also a webdesigner, BUT this was her recommendation for the GREN website: 

“ For the web site, I would suggest contacting Conestoga College and connecting with the teacher who does the Web Design courses.  This looks like an excellent project for students.  If they set it up as a 'Content Management' site, different parts of your group could have password access to update their own sections and things would stay up to date.  We've just taken that approach with Interfaith Grand River.  The students will be submitting their designs to us at the end of July.  I'll try to find out more about who to contact and let you know.”   Also, she said these nice things about the water forum we hosted: 

“I attended the Water Symposium at rare in 2013.  It was excellent - very informative.  I'd be happy to be involved in planning public educational events like that, including such things as the Town Hall meetings with candidates, etc.   I have to get through the NonCon (http://www.thenon-conference.com/) in August first, but I'll look forward to attending your September meeting and seeing where that leads.”

I made it – completely winging it – but no one seems to have the ability or time to maintain it and keep it current and active. We meet fairly infrequently, but have an email discussion list and recruit each other for “bums in seats” and sharing info as needed. Thank you for all of this information.  I am so grateful for these tips, since this is a whole new world for me.  I will follow down every suggestion.  

Your environmental activism sound intriguing.  I was quite serious about volunteering to help with whatever environmental issues you are working on, if not now then in the future.  I'm so glad our paths have crossed!

Lunch sounds good.  Cafe 22 does some nice lunch salads and other lunch items.  It is in Uptown Waterloo, across from Famosa Pizza (the old Rude Native), in other words across from Waterloo Square and up a bit.  Let's say 11:30 - 11:45 so you don't need to rush.
