[GREN-Exec] draft meet and greet election evening

Hi John,

Theo and I are working on how to send the Sept. 29 invitation to the candidates from info at gren.ca instead of your personal email. They will also RSVP to info at gren.ca which goes to Theo. Theo said he’s OK keeping track of the RSVP’s so we know how many candidates will be attending the Sept. 29 meeting.

I’m confused as to the purpose of an email address that will go to me, Yvonne, Robert and Jan.

The e-mails should not be set up to go to the gren people who are candidates. The responses to this letter to all candidates should go to a non-candidate. Otherwise it is seen as blatant favouritism which makes our meeting seem insincere.

John

I can create another e-mail address, let's say candidates at gren.ca and forward all e-mails to Susan K., Yvonne, Jan and Robert. BTW, Susan, you didn't give me info for Robert to put on the website.

Rather than sending them from your home email, can you (Theo) set it up so they come from info at gren.ca? I’ve put that down as the RSVP email address, but is it possible for someone else to receive RSVP’s, besides John, at that address? Can we ask a GREN member to keep track of them and also make up name tags for them?

I’ll track them down tomorrow.

Do you have e-mails for the candidates?

Do we have St. John’s yet? And I think we’ll have to check with them to make sure we can use plates, cups etc. and if they have a coffee machine and one for tea. And should we pay them more of a rental fee for that evening?

I agree with adding time to hear from each of the candidates – briefly.

Fine with me.

When it is finalized, send it to me and I will send it out under my e-mail address.

Just one suggestion. We might get a better response if we say that the candidates also get a minute on the podium to say something about their values, beliefs, visions, etc. if they so desire, and not just listen to us. Would that be workable?
