[All] Chance to speak up for Great Lakes

I told you a while ago that a new Great Lakes activist group has been formed - the Great Lakes Ecoregion Network (GLEN). I have to confess that sometimes I have automatically typed in GREN when doing GLEN stuff.

At the end of this month the Canadian and US federal governments are holding their triennial meeting on Great Lakes water quality in Niagara Falls. We know that only a limited number of people will be able to be there. Therefore, we are holding six webinars to receive comments from people about what their major Great Lakes concerns and hoped for solutions are that we will bring forward to the governments at the end of September. 

I know we are in-landers and sometimes tend to forget that we are in the Great Lakes basin. Of course, we as part of the Grand River watershed are responsible for what we do to Lake Erie. Also I am sure that many of you vacation on the Great Lakes and the St. Lawrence River.

I encourage you to look at the attachment, which has the details and has registration links. There are four remaining webinars: Lake Erie (Tuesday Sept 6); Lake Huron (Wednesday Sept. 7); Lake Ontario (Wednesday Sept. 14); and St Lawrence River (Thursday Sept.15). We already had our Lake Superior and Lake Michigan meetings. They were very interesting. Even if you don't want to say anything, I think you would find it interesting to go on one of the calls.
