[All] FW: FW: Why you still can't drink the local water in Elmira | TheRecord.com

Your comments are music to my ears Greg. It is interesting to note that
Leah Gerber is actually being paid by the federal government as part of a
program to support local journalism. That concept comes with its own
baggage, but I'm glad she's there.

I see problems and shortcomings in the Record everyday, but knowing that
the newsroom has shrunk by 75 or 80 per cent since I joined the papers in
1984, I'm amazed at the good work that they do. I disagree with many of
the opinions expressed, but I'm sure glad that there are people there to
express them. I spend the first hour of everyday reading the Record and
dread the day that there is no hard copy of the paper.

If Donald Trump has been effective at one thing, it is probably
successfully convincing large numbers of people that the main-stream media
is peddling false news and that is just sad.
