Why are Grocery stores exempt from Curb Side delivery of Plants?
Locally I confirm that you CAN purchase garden plants at Zehrs located at Conestoga Mall. I grabbed four containers of Strawberries there the other day. But in Ontario if you want to buy plants from Home Depot, Lowes, Canadian Tire or a garden centre it is curb side delivery only.  In this article garden expert Mark Cullen stated: "Every province in the country but Ontario, their independent garden centre, their chain garden centres are open for business. Obviously with the appropriate safety protocols, that goes without saying. But why not Ontario?"First Ontario businesses prepare to reopen as COVID-19 regulations loosen

Covid & Food: We were not ready.
Three experts from the Canadian Science Policy Centre speak on how Covid 19 woke us up on the need to have a secure food system in place. Brief Excerpts:
The way in which our farms depend on temporary foreign workers has been highlighted as a major challenge. Similarly, keeping our food processing sector operating as staff test positive for the virus is proving difficult. There is also a massive food security crisis looming amongst low income Canadians, many of whom have lost their jobs and seen wages plummet.

Canada did not go into this crisis with a food security plan in place. Other countries had already put ideas on paper to guide how to keep food systems running in the event of a series of worst-case scenarios. If we had conducted such an exercise, then we would have been better prepared for the challenges we currently are facing.

All this talk of Covid reminds me of a question this person asked earlier this week.  If one uses the Covid 19 stimulus money to buy baby chickens does that mean we got the money for nothing and the chicks for free?

Vandana Shiva warns of MonsantoThis is a must see video. Vandana Shiva speaks openly on GMO and Monsanto. She warns of corporations taking over agriculture and how they destroyed farmlands of Punjab and how farmers used to hold 90% of the seeds in the past but these firms ruined soil and destroyed the water supply and the pollinators were gone.  She worked to reintroduce the organic cotton seeds and the wealth stayed local.  Monsanto lost 11 Million dollars.  She warns that Bill Gates is like "Christopher Columbus" because seeds existed by nature but he's creating the colonization of seeds, creating new colonies.  Mark Zuckerburg of Facebook is mining the data of farmers and aspires to get into agriculture as well designing the ads and using the raw data for their corporate agenda.

(My view: Bayer Monsanto have created Heroin, Round Up, Agent Orange etc. These people have yet to be held accountable for the externalized costs they've had on society! I'm thinking of Elmira too. )

Irvings have access to Alberta Oil...through the Panama Canal.

Irvings were behind Enbridge Line 9 and Energy East trying to get Alberta oil to move to their terminals along the East Coast. They sought to get Alberta Oil to their terminals and finally they got permission from Canada to get that Alberta Oil but only through... the Panama Canal. If you view the video here, you will see the price of Alberta oil aka WCS fell to  -$40 per barrel. It is reasonable to state this would not be a very profitable venture. Visit here and look at the map of the detour they have to take. Irving Oil finally gets approval to source Alberta oil — but through the Panama Canal

Enbridge Line 3 spill in Saskatchewan
Enbridge Line 3 "release" of 150m3 of oil took place in Herschel Saskatchewan. The volume equals 150,000 litres or 943 barrels of oil. Most was spilled in the fenced in pumping station area and the 20m3 (20,000 litres) poured outside the fence ending up in a ditch. It was first reported on twitter by the Canadian Energy Regulator. The article published states the spill was found by an Enbridge employee. Details here.https://www.worldpipelines.com/business-news/01052020/pump-station-incident-at-enbridge-facility/?fbclid=IwAR0ty1ZSC9t4RmI3tNuZMX5kdgAIp1R23GFRQNR_u6oioRiakZvTDBCGhEw
