Q: "How come there's a highrise going up next to me?"
Q: "Who gave them the right to pave over that nice farm where I always buy strawberries?"
A: "It's all in the Official Plan which was approved eight years ago."
To prevent this happening to you,
you can learn about what the Region of Waterloo Official Plan foresees for our city. Learn which streets are proposed to be major thoroughfares.
If you don't like the plans, now is the time to speak up.
Learn what's being planned on
Tuesday night, February 25, 7 pm
Downtown Community Centre, Youth Room
35B Weber Street West, Kitchener
(I'm planning to go.)
A friend of mine, Hal Jaeger organizes a monthly meeting to keep his Kitchener neighbours apprised of development planning issues that could affect them. For this meeting the group has asked the Region of Waterloo's Principal Planner Alyssa Bridge to tell us about the new Regional Official Plan (ROP) that's currently being developed. We're all invited.
Alyssa will identify
a) the main goals of the new Regional Official Plan (ROP);
b) the process and schedule by which the new ROP will be reviewed and adopted;
c) where the draft documents are to be found and how the public may submit comments; and
d) any key questions on which the Region is especially seeking public feedback.
