The people of Toledo, Ohio recently made history when they passedthe Lake Erie Bill of Rights at the ballot box, becoming the firsttime a "rights of nature" law protecting a specific ecosystemwas passed by the people in North America. The Bill gives citizens theright to pursue legal action on behalf of the lake. 



Next Thursday, June 13th, the Canadian Freshwater Alliance willwelcome Tish O'Dell from the Community Environmental Legal DefenceFund (CELDF) and Markie Miller from Toledans for Safe Water to sharehow they worked to bring about the Lake Erie Bill of Rights and whatthe road ahead looks like.
