Hello! I'm reaching out as film director to extend a personal invitation to the first screening of Canadian climate change documentary Beyond Crisis: "a story of hope for a rapidly changing world", being screened along with a community event in Waterloo, Thursday, Sept 21st.

As a KW resident and director of the film, I hope some of your members at Amnesty International Group 9 are able to join us at this unique launch event at Princess Twin Cinema in Waterloo. The film has been designed with education and action in mind, and will be released with an in-depth package for further dialogue on climate change in our communities. To reserve a seat, learn about its uses and enjoy the experience firsthand, click here<https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/beyond-crisis-film-screening-qa-and-reception-tickets-36963354388> or use the link below - all tickets go to support our future journey beyond crisis.

We'd be grateful if you could share the below invite with your community, and are happy to answer any advance questions. Thank you for your work towards a safe climate future!

Sincerely,

Event Highlights

Beyond Crisis has been designed with community action in mind, as a unique Canadian film crafted “by community, for community.” In addition to the 1-hour film screening, the launch will feature:

  * An opportunity to meet the director Kai, ask questions about the film's message and uses, and hear about the 3-year journey for completing this film.
  * A description of the many possible uses of Beyond Crisis, from integrating the 5 distinct chapters into class curriculum, to using the film as a mobilizing / fundraising tool in community.
  * An opportunity to network with other climate leaders from Waterloo Region and beyond (healthy snacks provided).
  * An opportunity to discuss how to further climate action in our Region, working towards a more just, clean energy future for all.

We are aiming for this screening to truly build and strengthen community engagement on climate – showcasing the many ways people are already working towards a world beyond crisis, and the much-needed leadership we still need to move forwards.
