Dakota Access Issue at Capital Hill There were hearings at the Capital and on video. It is a 2 hour video but points taken reflect strongly on the similar issues we have in Canada in regards to lack of regard for proper consultations and lack of regard for Indigenous knowledge. The archaeology is highly flawed because schools have only taught a Colonial way of planning in schools. They never learned the details of Indigenous knowledge. Human trafficking, societal discord, suicides increase as the fabric of Indigenous life support is eroded. Sacred lands leveled. Homelands flooded. Lists of violations were read throughout the hearing of many planning projects that have failed to consult with these people and that have caused tort harm. It is not just one project at one location. This is systematic genocide. This part of a very long legacy of historical trauma. http://nativenewsonline.net/currents/taking-stand-protecting-water-native-american-sacred-cultural-resources-standing-rock-video/
