Hi John and GREN,
Really good point about the need to speak up now for 100% renewable energy in Ontario. It is well worth signing the petition below which is being done by CELA, Environmental Defence, Greenpeace and many other groups in a broad alliance.
We also have an opportunity to tell the provincial government directly as next week they will be hosting a Public Consultation Session right here in Waterloo Region. Details on these meetings regarding the Long-Term Energy Plan (LTEP) are as follows:
What: Ministry of Energy LTEP Public Consultation
Date: Monday, November 28th
Time: 6pm to 8pm
Where: Holiday Inn Hotel and Conference Center, 30 Fairway Road South, Kitchener
Additional information can be found on the government website: https://www.ontario.ca/page/consultation-ontarios-long-term-energy-plan
We need to tell the government to reverse its plan to suspend additional wind and solar energy projects and to make renewable energy a priority in the years ahead.
Cheers,
Kevin.
