[All] Church denounces Doctrine of Discovery today!

History is made today as Catholic Clergy officially denounce the Doctrine of Discovery.
This is the papal bull issued by Alexander the 6th who was the topic of the TV show, the Borgia. This guy was a thug who bribed his way to being pope. He had 10 kids and many mistresses while he was a pope and was one of the most corrupt guys in history. This papal bull he issued was a doctrine that allowed any Christian nation to take over resources and lands of non Christians and it was used to justify everything from the deportation of the Acadians, genocides against Native people, witch hunts to the crusades and colonialism. The US enshrined this document in their laws and this resulted in things like Guantanamo Bay, wars against Muslim Nations for commerce etc. 
Today 450 clergy officially denounced the law. They sent reps to Standing Rock and here is the event that took place. The police were told the doctrine is now denounced therefore they have no legal right to be on Dakota lands. The lands belong to the native people and the police must honor it.
