Hello Yvonne, Natalie, Brandon (and GREN),
Thank you for your comments.
In addition to concerns about mapping the River Rd. extension in the correct place in the CRoZBy documents, our concerns, emailed yesterday, addressed the following:
1. Compensation elsewhere in the Hidden Valley area for the woodland that will be destroyed by the road construction is important. Another forested area should be made part of the Hidden Valley Natural Area.
2. The map should show the appropriate area, of at least 300m. around all sides of the Jefferson Salamander protection zone, including the portion of the field nearest the river adjacent to the "frog pond" PSW.
Please consult the maps sent we sent yesterday.
Sincerely,
Daphne Nicholls

HI Daphne and Gord and Grenners,
Last week when I ran into Gord he mentioned his concern about the mapping and the zoning bylaw review.
Below is Brandon Sloan’s response to my question that Gord raised.
Please know that the next 2 meetings are the next step in the public process. At the original public meetings last year generated almost 900 comments and concerns. Planning staff are making their way through all of the comments and contacting each resident. Also because the Official Plan is still under appeal some parts of the zoning review is being held up.
This process is definitely going to be a few years in the making so please know that planning staff have no intention of bringing anything to Committee or Council until they have addressed the concerns.
Natalie Goss ( she is the planner who is directly involved in the review of the Zoning Bylaw) has committed to the following : As you know, I take the public consultation process that is part of CRoZBy very seriously. We will not be asking Council to make any decisions regarding any aspect of the new Zoning By-law without providing a response to the comments received to date. In addition, we are hopeful that once responses have been provided that property owners continue to be open to having conversations with us regarding the proposed zoning.
I hope this gives all some vote of confidence in how the process is moving forward. Please do send in your comments and concerns and attend the public meetings that Daphne and Gord have referred to .
Please let me know if you have other questions or concerns.

Hi Yvonne – it’s not necessarily a zoning thing but a mapping/GIS thing as to how proposed roads may be shown. So that you are aware, we just received information that the Minister has approved the River Rd extension (with some extra conditions about salt management). Our mapping folks will update accordingly in due process as they receive updated information layers. I would assume that by the next time we release information it should reflect the new route. Hopefully that will alleviate Gord’s concern.

Hi Natalie,
Last week when I met with you and Carrie on the Doonbrook issue I forgot to ask again about the concern that Gord Nichols raised with me related to the zoning mapping that still shows Hidden Valley with the River Rd extension going through the middle of Hidden Valley. He is very concerned that this is still being shown this way on all of the maps that he has viewed through the Crozby site.
Can you please clarify for me that the mapping is showing this road incorrectly? The Region has identified a completely different route that follows mainly the existing Hidden Valley Road.
Thanks.
