[All] Hidden Valley area rezoning

Hi Everyone
I spotted this story in the KW Record today.  A developer wanted to turn two luxury properties into a 40 unit townhouse project in the area of Hidden Valley Drive. The City of Kitchener unanimously voted no against the project.

The Part II order I made to request to bump up the Class EA for the River Road Extension still is not completed yet. The data I submitted identifies 23 endangered species found in the Hidden Valley Area. To allow any amendment in the are prior to the Ministry's decision, would be in my view, premature. Critical habitat delineation is not yet in place for many species, so in response I'm providing the City of Kitchener with a copy of my Part II order request for good measure. 
The developer is threatening to use the OMB. 
Council is voting to approve their decision on June 24th so I want to make sure they have a copy of the Part II submission in hand. If need be I'll become a participant in the OMB hearings and submit it as sworn affidavit evidence to help support the city's decision.
