Hi GRENers,

Further to a request from a friend in Elora who wants to stop Nestle from
buying a water extraction company in Elora, I've been trying to find some
resources for their ever-growing group.

Has anyone had any dealings with Dr. David L Rudolph from UWaterloo?

He's listed as the head of the Water Institute and I just watched a video of
a presentation the made in Australia (link below) about a 10 year project
where they found a way to take down the nitrogen levels in the municipal
wells to an acceptable level through best management practices and injecting
a medium that would consume nitrogen in the groundwater. He said in the
video that the city of Woodstock had bought the land that was affecting the
municipal wells, but kept up agricultural production on it, using the Best
Management Practices. Even with a substantial reduction in fertilizer use,
there was no drop in crop yield (corn), and they were able to bring the well
back into production because they were able to reduce the levels of
nitrogen.
