Thank you for your interest in the Region of Waterloo International Airport
and the Airport’s Master Plan, a process which has been underway since
early 2013. The purpose of the Master Plan is to provide a set of
recommendations for future airport development over the next 20 years.



After extensive community consultation, discussion with stakeholder groups,
analysis of feedback and comments received to date, and review by the
Master Plan Project Team, a report providing a Master Plan Update is
scheduled to be on the Region of Waterloo Planning and Works Committee of
Council agenda on June 17, 2014.



The report recommends that a draft Master Plan for the Airport be prepared
on the basis of the “Status Quo” option previously presented to the
public.  Staff would then prepare a draft Master Plan document that would
be made available to the public for review and comment at the end of
2014/early 2015.  A further public input session would be planned for early
2015. Following the 2015 public input session a recommendation to adopt the
Master Plan would be presented to Regional Council for approval.



A copy of the report will be available on Friday, June 13, 2014 at 4:00 pm
on the Region’s website at *www.regionofwaterloo.ca

Agendas and Minutes, Standing Committees, Planning and Works Committee.
