Dear Louisette ,
Thank you so much for joining over a thousand Canadians in adding your voice to the revised federal science, technology and innovation strategy.
A new report just released today by the Professional Institute of the Public Service of Canada (PIPSC) documents the alarming destruction of the federal public service science capacity and confirms that the government’s science priorities are not in line with the priorities of Canadians.
According to a PIPSC poll, 73% of Canadians believe that the protection of public health, safety and the environment should be the top priority for government scientific activity. Only 10% felt that business innovation should be the top priority, yet business innovation is the top focus of the federal science strategy.
Thank you again for taking the time to call for a new science strategy that truly reflects the values of Canadians.
You can read the full PIPSC report here: http://www.pipsc.ca/portal/page/portal/website/issues/science/vanishingscience

P.S. There is still time to submit feedback for the revised strategy. Consider encouraging your friends and collegues to have their say at www.evidencefordemocracy.ca/st. But hurry - the deadline is tomorrow!
