[All] Urgent! Westside Waterloo Costco Concerns

(Hi All - See Kevin's msg below.)

Kevin, is there any chance of getting them to relocate the stupid thing?
If they really want a Costco, you know where it should go? Between the 2
highway 7's, as that land will now be useless for anything else. But of
course that's not adding to Waterloo's tax base. I can't think of any
place for it in Waterloo. In fact that's what's great about our city -
quiet countryside on 3 sides.

So you think DELAY UNTIL THE ROAD IS WIDENED is all we can ask for?

Why not ask them to DEFER THE DECISION COMPLETELY until there can be
meaningful public consultation and debate? What's the rush anyway? LRT
took 10 years. Why are they allowing themselves to be pushed by this
developer?

How can we get a deferral? Can this please become our basic demand? Then
we'd have time to get the information out and mobilize people. How was
this sprung on us with no warning?

Eleanor
