My name is Graham Howell and I am the program coordinator for ClimateActionWR, an affiliate of Sustainable Waterloo Region and REEP Green Solutions.
I have been contacting community organizations and companies who would be interested in our upcoming Community Forum Series (please see below), and your association is one of them! As such, I would like to formally invite your association members to attend any one (or all) of the Community Forum dates! Please see below for more information and registration.
How can Waterloo Region become a climate change leader?
Please register for this event at the following link: http://climateactionwr.eventbrite.com/
At the Community Forum Series, you'll learn how local action on climate change contributes to a progressive and sustainable community, and have the opportunity to share your thoughts on the Climate Action Plan that’s under development.
A community Climate Action Plan is currently being developed through the ClimateActionWR partnership between REEP Green Solutions, Sustainable Waterloo Region, the Region of Waterloo, the City of Cambridge, the City of Kitchener and the City of Waterloo. This action plan will include strategies for reducing greenhouse gas emissions from residential, business, transportation and agricultural activities in our
community over the next 10 years, and will also set an overall reduction target for Waterloo Region.
This Community Forum Series is your opportunity to learn about the current direction of the action plan and engage in two-way discussion with a panel of community leaders about the strategies for local action against climate change.
Through collaboration, we can use our collective knowledge, progressive ideas and passion for Waterloo Region to shape the local climate action plan and reduction target. Join in on the conversation by attending one of the multiple forum events being held across Waterloo Region on March 19, 20 and 21.
Let’s work together to build on existing resources and propel real action
forward on climate change in our community.
