Hi folks

In the attachments is a PDF copy regarding the St. Mary's Olszowka Quarry pit in Brant. This info has been circulating like hot cakes.

I contacted the city of Brant council and the CEO Peter Emerson (former CAO of the GRCA ) and really appreciated the data. He relayed it to the city's Senior Planners and they contacted me and asked if I could keep them updated which is great. 


I know from area residents that there are rare species in proximity to this pit so I'm waiting for the public open house to see if they are proposing any critical habitat delineation mapping. 

Shelly Bonte-Gelok from the MOE who is currently responsible for gathering public feedback regarding best management strategies for bore holes was sent a copy of this info. It provides a great case analysis on the need to mandate reasonable bore hole depths to mitigate risks.
