[All] The Water Brothers: Water Fluoridation

Hi Nora, Richard (and fellow GREN'ers),

 

Thank you for helping GREN connect with the Water Brother's fluoridation
video, and the work Council of Canadians is also doing towards ending water
fluoridation.

 

As you may already be aware, Canadians Opposed to Fluoridation ~ Canadiens
Opposés à la Fluoration (COF-COF) is also working diligently on this issue.
Our staff secretary, Aliss Terpstra, is a member of the Council of Canadians
- Toronto Chapter, and helped Maude Barlow and CoC understand that if the
'un-bottle it campaign' were to be entirely successful, we all require safe
clean municipal water suitable for everyone to drink.  That point seemed to
resonate and gain CoC's support.  Michael Brothers, of the Toronto CoC, is
also closely aligned with COF-COF and helped further the fluoridation issue
within CoC.  COF-COF has since participated in two key-note speaking
engagements whereby we were invited to help facilitate further fluoridation
understanding within CoC.  Dr. Hardy Limeback, another member of our COF-COF
team, has also greatly assisted in that regard.  As with all good
partnerships, great things do eventually happen. 

 

Waterloo citizens can be very proud to know that since our local 2010
referendum which ended fluoridation here, the total number of communities
across Canada having ended fluoridation virtually doubled.  If you look at
all the communities across Canada ending fluoridation between 1960-2010,
that amount has virtually doubled over these last two years.  COF-COF will
continue to play a very active leadership role in that regard.

series by the Water Brothers. This is from the Toronto CoC chapter that has

The Water Brothers: Water Fluoridation


In the summer of 2011, The Water Brothers, Alex and Tyler Mifflin, set out
to investigate the practice of adding fluoride to public water supplies.
While fluoridation intended to prevent tooth decay, there are many
individuals speaking out against the practice due to possible health
concerns and ethics.
