Who is Cambridge City Green?

Cambridge City Green is a group of volunteers who encourage and coordinate community projects that benefit our local environment and promote

individual lifestyle changes for a sustainable Cambridge. Cambridge City Green is a subcommittee of the Council-appointed Cambridge Environmental

Advisory Committee (CEAC). Cambridge City Green volunteers have initiated the Cambridge Stewardship planting projects, coordinated annual litter clean ups, and have regularly hosted an annual event (City Green Movie Nights).

The Objectives of the City Green Strategy are:


to improve the natural environment through public action and community projects; 
to promote public involvement in local environmental projects and community groups; 
to develop partnerships in support of community projects involving all levels of government, the business community, funding agencies, schools and non-government organizations. 

The environmental themes for the City Green Strategy are: 
preservation, conservation and restoration of existing natural systems; 
environmental education; 
greening the City; 
environmental citizenship. 

City Green's main products are: 
an annual event - City Green Workshop 
Litter Clean ups 
Cambridge Stewardship tree-planting project 
and other projects as determined by the City Green volunteers
