I had a letter published in the Globe and Mail on Saturday.  It was rather badly edited, but here's the original.  I've received a response to it from a new group that is organizing in different locations to work on the issue of climate change.  I can't get involved in anything new myself right now, but thought I would forward it to GREN members. That's in the second email you're receiving from me.

Dear Editor,

It's almost a pleasure to shed crocodile tears for the Keystone pipeline, the latest megaventure of the wizards running  the oil industry's One Percent.

It's not hard to account for the menagerie of problems they have created.  They ignored the elephant in the room, put the cart before the horse, counted their chickens before they hatched, and then ended up cooking the goose that was supposed to lay their golden egg.

It's time our feeble politicians and corporate execs took their heads out of the sand and took responsibility for the problems of climate change, the lack of a coherent national energy policy, plain old greed and bad planning, environmental myopia, and assuming that the public would remain stupid forever and never complain about their lies and incompetence.
