Hi folks
In regards to GREN:
We've given public workshops regarding issues of Air Pollution in Sarnia in partnership with the First United Church Outreach Committee and members of Aamjiwnaang First Nation. (Lulu comment: Always good to show we work well with other groups)
We've hosted public information displays about Climate Change at the Waterloo Memorial Recreation Complex
We've lobbied provincial and federal governments to support biodiversity, water protection and climate change action via petitions and letters.
(Lulu comment: GREN signed an open letter to the PM with Climate Change Action Network via the addition of our logo)
We attend forums on environmental issues re: GM crops, the GRCA watershed forum, source protection issues and share the information with our members.
We contribute funds towards the efforts of concerned citizens groups working to protect the environment.
We network with other groups to assist with public participation processes regarding environmental concerns.
We work to inform municipal leaders about environmental issues of concern in our community and provide suggestions on ways we can foster more sustainable solutions.

Subject: 7 Generations Network - Invitation to submit an entry to the Grand Actions Registry May 11, 2011 Dear Susan Koswan, RE: 7 Generations NetworkMy name is Alyson Coons, and I am a co-op student from Wilfrid Laurier University. I have been hired by the Grand River Conservation Authority, working with Barbara Veale, to assist with compiling the sixteenth edition of the Grand Actions Registry. The Grand Actions Registry recognizes activities and accomplishments that improve the Grand River watershed, promote heritage appreciation and/or support the Grand River and its major tributaries (Speed, Eramosa, Nith and Conestogo Rivers), as Canadian Heritage Rivers. The sixteenth edition will highlight actions undertaken during 2010. As a past Grand Actions Registry contributor, I would like to invite and encourage you to update your most recent entry (see attached).I recognize that this is an extremely busy time of the year. Your commitment
to improving the watershed is extremely vital and your entry will help us profile and celebrate your contributions, along with the many others undertaken throughout the Grand River watershed. Your updated entry can be sent to me by e-mail (grandactionsregistry at grandriver.ca), fax (519-621-4945) or mail by June 15, 2011. New photographs that illustrate your activity(ies) or accomplishment(s) greatly add to the registry submission and can be forwarded as separate image files. As in previous years, the completed Grand Actions Registry will be available for viewing on-line at http://www.grandriver.ca/GrandActionsRegistry/Thank you for your ongoing efforts in promoting the wellbeing of the Grand River watershed. I look forward to your new entry. I will be following up with you next week by phone to see if I can be of any assistance, or to answer any questions that you may have. Sincerely, Alyson CoonsCommunity Outreach/Research AssistantGrand River
