Hi folks
The folks at Gravel Watch sent this power point in showing strategies used by quarry pits to defeat public opposition. This is an excellent tool to  to understand the other side's perspective on things.

Note that quarries are disliked more than Wallmart and nuclear power plants, coming
in third in the US as the most opposed development, losing out to landfill and
casinos for the most opposed development.  According to the Saint Index.
