[All] Wilmot Line and another pond violated.

Hi folks

The Wilmot LIne update is listed in the upcoming municipal agenda. Director Phil Hewittson will be giving an update to council regarding the paving of the Wilmot LIne. 

I'm going in as a delegate on Monday night to Waterloo City Council to raise this concern that the paving of this road was non compliant to provincial planning laws. To view the info on Mr. Hewittson's presentation you can visit here and look towards the bottom of the agenda packet.

Today I am in dialogue with the GRCA to see if they are willing to
 investigate the damages done to the capture zone for vernal pond W-12 located in ESPA 19.  During the West Side Lands OMB process, the capture zone was identified by my Senior Hydrologist Stan Denhoed in a map as seen in the attachments. Special provisions were made to protect this area in the OMB experts meeting in Amphibians #2 and Water Item #1 as seen here: http://waterloomoraineact.com/expertminutes.htm

The board recognized the experts minutes as the resolution to the issues however the City staff failed to honor the agreements. Instead of protecting the capture zone they went full steam ahead using pre-omb mapping to allow current development approvals to level the area of capture zone located on Vista Hills. I went to Waterloo City Council on July 18th to raise this general concern. At this point I could sue the city via the Superior courts by  for violation of the OMB court order but I'm going to work with the GRCA and MNR first to see what measures can be done to address this mess.
