good article- CBC Radio means a lot to me for one- I'm often listening to Radio One or Radio 2 while working around the house at various things, learning a lot about a wide range of things and keeping in touch with what's going on in Canada and around the world - I would really miss it if it was gone. For my 87 yr.old mother-in-law living in a seniors home, it is her lifeline. She doesn't want to watch tv anymore because-believe it or not- the remotes are so complicated now that she kept getting into trouble with it and tv wouldn't work. I am really afraid what Harper might do to the CBC, as he never seems to see merit in things that to him, are part of "the arts" + mean a lot to people.

Of course the environment should be part of this National dialogue esp. within a Triple Bottom Line (or 3P) context.

          Dear Robert,

I just read an article in the Toronto Star by Don Tapscott about how the CBC can bring the country together by creating a platform for national dialogue. I thought you might find interesting as well:

A new reason to support the CBC by Don Tapscott
July 30, Toronto Star - In era of fragmentation, CBC provides essential platform for discussion.
