Mr. Cooney kept implying last evening that if we opposed fluoridation it was because we all were conspiracy theorists so via this letter below I decided to share some factual data that reveals the link between municipal water fluoridation/pesticides and big pharma.

Hello Mr. Cooney
When the PH balance is augmented in any environment, there are numerous
cellular and microbiological implications. The human body must be
reasonably be viewed as a network reflecting complex biodiversity. Using
fluoridated drinking water is a form of acidifying the human body. This causes cellular stresses which makes the human body far more susceptible to a wide variety of ailments. Take for example, catalase, which is an enzyme that brings about (catalyzes) the reaction by which hydrogen peroxide
is decomposed to water and oxygen. By introducing fluoridation, you essentially inhibit the
function of this enzyme. Here is the evidence regarding this concern:
http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/j.1399-302X.1990.tb00435.x/abstract
So upon first glance, I'm thinking that pesticide firms are already benefiting from municipal fluoridation by selling the by-product but perhaps the use of fluoride may also be of interest to industries with an interest in pharmaceuticals. You can't change the acidity of the human body and not expect health concerns to manifest. The use of fluoride acidifies the body and that can create
cellular stressors etc. so I started looking for general links between pesticide and pharmaceutical companies. What I found this morning is absolutely shocking.
Here is a quick breakdown, featuring the corporate websites that shows the clear relationship between pesticide firms and pharmaceutical companies:
"Aventis Worldwide" handles medical, agrochemical and pharmaceutical

Aventis "crop sciences" include herbicides, fungicides,
pesticides and genetically engineered food.

Dupont Chemical recently sold a pharmaceutical division to Bristol Myers

In light of this information, is my concern that there may be scientific bias inhibiting the funding for studies related to the harmful impacts of water fluoridation due to corporate bias.
After 50 years of use we still don't have any reasonable data made available to the public that outlines the effects of water fluoridation on the acidification of the human body beyond the scope of dental care. That in my view is absolutely incredible. Where is this data?
The possibility exists that there may be profit in creating products that may weaken the health of citizens. One can only speculate if that is the case or not. It is interesting to note how many
universities and other research agencies are funded by these particular companies. These agencies get a say in what studies are funded or not. That's a concern.
Currently Health Canada strongly relies upon the data produced by pharmaceutical/pesticide companies to shape our nation's policies. We need to include a broader scope of experts to assess risks.
The Professional Institute of the Public Service of Canada recently created a website called publicscience.ca. which reveals how the lack of scientific data on certain issues facilitates more power to politicians to sway decisions to what they want without regard to sound science. CBC covered a story on the weblink below. It made me wonder if this was the case in regards to fluoride since so much of the information is insufficient due to lack of data.
http://www.cbc.ca/technology/story/2010/10/18/federal-union-government-science.html
The Union of Concerned Scientists in the US also came forward to discuss how the FDA and the US Department of Agriculture are
being pressured by industry lobbyists to influence practices that place the public at risk. That press release is below for your reference.
http://www.ucsusa.org/news/press_release/fda-and-usda-scientists-survey-0402.html
The bottom line is, when the companies that create pesticides introduce their waste materials into our water supplies, there is profit to be made if things get bad because they are the ones who also own the pharmaceutical branches that benefit from the required treatments. These companies sit on Health Canada's steering committees and they fund the science which forms our policies. That's way to much power and influence in the hands of private companies and
Canadians are waking up to that fact.
I don't want my water supply medicated without consent in unregulated dosages. It's illogical. I would like to see the full data regarding the implications of this product on the human body beyond the scope of dental concerns. It lasts far longer in my blood stream than it does in my mouth when I drink it. What are the risks?
