The Regional Transportation Master Plan will determine investment priorities and supporting policy for transportation over the next 20 years. The Region will present the preferred transportation network, developed to meet future transportation demand in Waterloo Region. This transportation network includes an integrated rapid transit and bus network and strategic road improvements to best meet the Region’s transportation goals and objectives. You will have an opportunity to ask questions of staff as you tour our displays.

Regional Transportation Corridor Guidelines:
The draft Regional Transportation Corridor Guidelines will also be presented at these open houses from 6 to 9 p.m. The Guidelines are being developed to guide the process for planning and designing complete streets that include space for all modes of transportation. The Region recognizes that there are many different types of streets throughout Waterloo Region with different uses, nearby buildings and different requirements for cars, trucks, transit vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists. A classification system was developed to categorize different types of streets throughout the region and prioritize the different elements that make up a complete street, including:
* Widths for traffic lanes, sidewalks, cycling lanes and buffer zones
* Street furniture, landscaping and public art zones
* Dedicated transit lanes
* Intersection design and transition areas
These meetings are served by Grand River Transit. For route information, visit www.grt.ca or call 519-585-7555.
These events are also accessible for people with disabilities. If you require assistance to participate, or to access information in alternate formats, please contact the Regional Transportation Master Plan infoline at least five days before the meeting you plan to attend.
