Hello to all GREN members,

As many of you may know already the City of Kitchener plans on challenging the acceptance of the Protected Countryside Line as part of the ROP. Many of you will remember last year a group of us working on reiviewing the Regional Official Plan and being very disappointed when the Region did not include it in it's approval. Staff were asked to review the document again, hold many more public meetings and meet with the vast number of stakeholders.

Tomorrow City of Kitchener Council guided by a motion from Carl Zehr will challenge again the inclusion of the Protected Countryside Line. If you are available to help fill the seats so as to show the City of Kitchener that we as citizens who voted in those councillors around the horse support the inclusion of the PCL in the Regional Official Plan. There are a number of neighbourhood people as welll as some from outside the area who are preparing to attend and speak!

Thanks for all the support I have received from a number of GREN members over the last number of days. I hope that I am able to present the valid and most important points.

I will keep GREN informed about the outcome and may request some brief email lobbying of Regional councillors on Tuesday and Wednesday to keep the vote strong in favour of the Protected Countryside Line.

Please pass this forward to all those who you think have an interest in this issue!
