Hello Ministers
In the last email I provided the minutes of the meeting but there were slight typing errors so please exchange the previous minutes for the current in the attachments. It's a better copy.
Tomorrow I must attend a meeting with Waterloo City staff and Regional Staff because the developers of the OMB process PL071044 are contesting the conditions of subdivision approval and have begun a new OMB process case #PL091182.
To date city of Waterloo and Region of Waterloo staff have failed to explain to me why this appeal is happening or to provide any the test results secured by way of my OMB process so I can update my senior hydrologist and ichthyologist/salamander expert on the current situation. I am meeting with staff today so hopefully that will help.
The hearing takes place March 23rd. OMB planner Raymond Borja and the solicitor for the Developers have not returned my call
If a person has a dog that defecates and the owner doesn't pick it up, I can call bylaw and see enforcement of law. If a developer puts our municipal water supply and rare species at risk by way of a subdivision, the ministries state it is a planning matter that the only recourse is the OMB. I followed the ministry's advice, I secured concessions paid $27,000 in professional fees and now we go back.
At what point will there be reasonable enforcement options for the public to seek assistance from Ministry staff in order to help our communities to circumvent risk? Is there no way we can create an alternative form of resolution? My appeal is to protect source water. I am working with funds out of my own pocket to protecting generations worth of economic investments and the primary water supply for my community. Honestly, why should such a huge burden of responsibility fall on the shoulders of a stay at home housewife?
Read the experts minutes and see how ALL of the experts signed off on the fact that studies for hydrology were insufficient.

This proposal according to Professor Emeritus Emil Frind, Canada's top hydrology expert, could have resulted in the future closure of the Greenbrook Wells. Had I not made this appeal. we could have lost 5% of our regional water supply.
All I'm saying is that we need to see the province step up to the plate because our politicians are obviously not capable of adequately protecting this community's water resources for the long term. We need intervention. Please call a moritorium and help to secure a Waterloo Moraine Protection Act.

The source water protection act is simply not going to cut it because we're dealing with an issue of poor governance that is leading to bad planning decisions. Take the problem to the real source of the problem: Bad Planning.
When it comes to our water supply allow nature to replace it don't chase it. Lake Erie is a far way to fetch a glass to drink.
