Hi folks
 
Gong Heii Fat Choi! Happy Chinese New Years!
 
My family went to the Pacific Mall in Toronto off Steels Ave. with the kids. It's the largest Asian mall in North America and one of our favorite places to visit, especially around the holidays. The mall was packed with hundreds of folks watching New Years entertainment including Lion Dancers, Martial Artists, Singers etc. 
 
The host came up on stage and wanted a "couple" to volunteer for a game. I was way at the back of the crowd holding hands with Alex. The host saw us holding hands and he pointed right at us and asked us to come up to play the game.  They gave us these two kiddy balls with Dora on it and told us to see how many times we can bounce the ball with both hands at the same time. I apparently had a knack for it with the highest double dribbles so I  won prizes galore. I got a T-shirt, mouse pad, coupons, a free pen, fabric bag and an aromatherapy massage oil kit worth $100 but the funniest thing was the red packet called a hong bao given to Alex and I. They were filled with a chocolate loonie and Chinese New Year card...from Prime Minister Steven Harper.  (the autograph is photographed)

I told my daughter Samantha it could be quite a collectible some day. She said people would probably be willing to pay money to burn it. Lol.
