Great News!
The Ontario government announced an $8 billion investment in clean energy, the single most important boost for renewable energy in Canadian history.! Immediate Action is needed to help get Liberals to support Bill C-311.
On Wednesday, April 14, Members of Parliament will take a final vote on the only piece of climate change legislation moving its way through the House of Commons: Bill C-311, The Climate Change Accountability Act. Organizations across the country support the bill, which sets strong targets on greenhouse gas reductions, among other things.
The Conservatives have consistently voted against the bill. The Liberals, Bloc, and NDP have been in favour of it, but we don't know where the Liberals stand going into the final vote.

Dear Ministers,

I am writing to urge you and your parties to support the passage of Bill C-311, entitled An Act to ensure Canada assumes its responsibilities in preventing dangerous climate change (the “Climate Change Accountability Act”) when it is voted on in the house on Wednesday April 14th.

This bill contains targets for greenhouse gas pollution reduction that are in line with what scientists tell us is needed to avoid dangerous climate change. Canada must do its fair share in the global effort to combat climate change, and protect the most vulnerable people in the world from the consequences.

Studies have shown that Canada can reach science based targets by 2020 while still growing the economy by 2% a year and creating over one million new jobs.

All parties in Canada’s parliament should work together and pass this essential piece of legislation.

I would like to see my government showing leadership on climate change, so please vote in favour of the Climate Change Accountability Act.

Thank you,

[Your name]
