Hello everyone

This latest You Tube video shows the blatant violation to the Federal Fisheries Act currently taking place on the West Side Lands in Waterloo Ontario to Clair Creek.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wDVUrWaVCwE

Water funnels into the deep aquifer through the Clair Creek system on the West Side Lands making this area one of the most vulnerable throughout the entire Waterloo moraine system according to Professor Emeritus Emil Frind, one of Canada's top hydrologists.

The EIS studies had no regard to the loosing recharge but the OMB process secured offline Storm Water Management Ponds and protection for the creek. The OMB secured new studies on the creek but the video is evidence of augmentations that are taking place during the testing period. It will result in reduced water volumes, water temperature and water quality and change of flow rates to the creek. It will have adverse impacts to fish communities within Clair Creek.

This may augment natural features and the protected vernal ponds located within Environmentally Sensitive Protected Area 19 (ESPA 19)

Sorry about the long email list but I'm trying to assure no plausible deniability.

Still waiting for some sort of stop action or enforcement. The City and Region of Waterloo, the GRCA, DFO, MMAH, MNR and MOE have all been contacted but construction is continuing.

The GRCA permit and the city documents that allowed for this are in the attachments as secured by way of the Freedom of Information Act.

Let me share a couple of quotes:

Nothing is more destructive of respect for the government and the law of the land than passing laws which cannot be enforced.
Albert Einstein

Our government... teaches the whole people by its example.  If the government becomes the lawbreaker, it breeds contempt for law; it invites every man to become a law unto himself; it invites anarchy.
~Louis Dembitz Brandeis

( Now you know why citizens are camping on Site 41 and Hanlon Park in Guelph)

The safety of the people shall be the highest law.
Marcus Tullius Cicero

According to the GRCA 30% of the Grand River is effluent during low flow periods and folks drink the water downstream. Cicero's quote was made approximately 49BC. I strongly suggest we embrace that logic again.

In the 1500's clever people purchased lands that others overlooked and they embedded the knowledge in alchemy and symbols of the age. The crafty types knew what to look for. A   salamander was highly valued because there was enough water to build a well system to support a village. If Jeffersons are in Hanlon there's a very high probability of recharge on site too.

Today we have crafty types with a different agenda. If you make it and break it you profit. That's why we must take extra care in assuring the science is sound.

Let's dare to do the right thing and put a stop action on Hanlon Park and the West Side Lands augmentations until proper GPR (ground-penetrating radar) sedimentary strata readings can be secured so we know what is here before they continue to modify these properties. Do the salamander studies properly and then plan wisely from there. It's not an unreasonable request to ask to do dilligence for the sake of community safety or to take extra precautions to protect a municipal water supply.

Thank you kindly for your time.
