Thanksgiving Hike
Laurel Creek Conservation Area, Waterloo 2 p.m.
Spend an afternoon celebrating and giving thanks for our wonderful environment. Join our naturalists as they explore a variety of different habitats and see the changes that are going on in the busy fall season. Help identify some trees and look at their amazing colours. This event is free with park admission.

Trees Workshop
St. Andrew's Hall, Caledonia 7-9 p.m.
The GRCA, Trees Ontario and the Ontario Forestry Association are sponsoring a free workshop on tree planting to be held in Caledonia on Oct. 13. The workshop will provide information on tree planting techniques, as well as the programs and incentives available to landowners interested in planting trees. Creepy Critters & Pumpkin Carving

Creepy Creature Show

Brantford Spills Workshop
T.B. Costain S.C. Johnson Community Centre, 16 Morrell St., Brantford
A training workshop for industries and businesses learn will provide participants with a broad range of information on how to prevent spills, how to clean up properly, the legal liabilities around spills and other topics. The workshop is offered by the City of Brantford and the GRCA as part of their Source Protection Planning Program under the Clean Water Act. The goal is to protect the sources of municipal drinking water supplies from contamination. Participants can sign up for just the first day for $50 or for the full two-day workshop for $100. Space is limited to 50 on the first day and 20 on the second day. The workshop will include information about grants available under the Clean Water Act for Pollution Prevention Reviews.
