Dear Council , Staff and Decision Makers of Woolwich Township:
You have a very difficult decision to make very soon, regarding the protection and survival of one of your most precious and recognized heritage and 'tourist attractions' in your locale.
Yes, I speak of our well known and beloved "Kissing Bridge" in Westmontrose. In the interests of progressing into the future, and building more and more onto our increasingly diminishing greenbelts, environmentally sensitive landscapes, wetlands, forests, much needed (and less respected by potential developers and aggregate miners and their cohorts) it is with a very strong hope that you will listen and 'hear' what the protective citizens are saying.
Once we lose it , it's gone forever and then again forever.!
Guelph has just had a situation wherein 151 charges have been laid( by the city) for the unapproved tree cutting. Be that as it may, the beautiful, aircleansing trees are gone, and they are gone forever 'at this point in time.' Yes, we can plant more trees, but they need to mature and will take many years to reach the maturity of the trees that were "slaughtered" , to help this area to cleanse and help to purify our smog infested air. I am told that there are some developers whose attitude is ' do it and get it over with and face the consequences later"."Once it's done , it's done, and it's over... and pay the fine.!!".
Please preserve your very own local heritage "Kissing Bridge" and if some of you councillors need more time to deal with this very important potentially altering of your community's future , please put it on the 'back burner' for another meeting.
