<div class="">Thanks for the financial update. Indeed, I have been able to bring in some significant funding for GREN over the past year and there will still be the second part of our current Greenbelt and ROP grant coming in 2022.</div>

<div class="">However, we have to be careful before we give it away as much of it is already committed - some of it indeed is ear-marked to provide resources to other groups such the Nith Valley Ecoboosters in return for the webinar they will be hosting on
the ROP on November 15th and Hold the Line Waterloo Region who is in the process of reprogramming their e-mail advocacy program for the pending ROP campaign. There are also expenses for the considerable time that Franz Hartman and myself are incurring organizing
the community response to the ROP. I have put in more than 50 hours on this already this week and Franz should be sending us his October invoice soon.</div>

<div class="">There are also portions of the funding that have to go to specific activities such as communications or overhead expenses that we can be creative with for example to cover our new website development expenses. In the end, I think that we can
let other groups know that we have some limited ability to help them with funding resources however, I would caution that likely 80%+ of what I have brought in is already committed.</div>

<div class="">I’m very pleased that you are able to present on November 9th. You are right about Paul Britton and the development lobby pushing hard - this ROP Review is there last chance for the next 30 years (likely their lifetime) to get their lands approved
for development expansion so the pressure is intense. I have registered to speak as well. If possible I would like to see if John or Susan or Susan or someone can speak on behalf of GREN if you are going to speak for Waterloo Region Nature. I am the only
voice who can speak for Smart Growth Waterloo Region and I think that it is important that this organization that was formed in 2013 specifically to advocate for the Regional Official Plan be represented. Please speak up if you might be able to make a short
delegation on Tuesday afternoon for GREN. It looks like we have about 15 groups signed up so far.</div>

I'm preparing a presenttion for the Nov. 9 Regional council meeting, but hope to present it on behalf of the new Conservation Action Committee (one of my other hats) of Waterloo Region Nature, providing it gets presidential approval. I've registered for the
meeting just as an individual, in case the pres does not approve. The Conservation Committtee is a new initiative for WRN andthis would be its first public intervention. This would add another group to the coaliton.</div>
