<div><span style="font-size:11pt;"><span style="font-family:arial, sans-serif;">As you know, in the spring of 2015, the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry initiated a co-ordinated review of the <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://trk.mmail.lst.fin.gov.on.ca/trk/click?ref=zr9uf3m5h_1-28eax33243x07109&">Growth Plan for the Greater Golden Horseshoe</a>, the <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://trk.mmail.lst.fin.gov.on.ca/trk/click?ref=zr9uf3m5h_1-28eax33219x07109&">Niagara Escarpment Plan</a>, the <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://trk.mmail.lst.fin.gov.on.ca/trk/click?ref=zr9uf3m5h_1-28eax329b6x07109&">Oak Ridges Moraine Conservation Plan</a> and the <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://trk.mmail.lst.fin.gov.on.ca/trk/click?ref=zr9uf3m5h_1-28eax3321ax07109&">Greenbelt Plan</a>.</span></span></div>
<div><span style="font-size:11pt;"><span style="font-family:arial, sans-serif;">To support the co-ordinated review, an <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://trk.mmail.lst.fin.gov.on.ca/trk/click?ref=zr9uf3m5h_1-28eax3321bx07109&">Advisory Panel</a> was appointed to develop and propose recommendations on how to amend and improve the plans. Chair David Crombie, and members Keith Currie, Rae Horst, John MacKenzie, Leith Moore and Debbie Zimmerman, attended public meetings, reviewed the plans and relied upon their knowledge of the region and issues at stake to provide input and recommendations.</span></span></div>
<div><span style="font-size:11pt;"><span style="font-family:arial, sans-serif;">While we acknowledge the great work of the Advisory Panel, we would also like to take this opportunity to thank you for your input in the review. Your input has helped Mr. Crombie and the Panel formulate a thorough and objective report which he has now submitted to the government. We are pleased to share the Panel’s report <i><a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://trk.mmail.lst.fin.gov.on.ca/trk/click?ref=zr9uf3m5h_1-28eax3321cx07109&">Planning for Health, Prosperity and Growth in the Greater Golden Horseshoe: 2015 – 2041</a></i> with you today.</span></span></div>
<div><span style="font-size:11pt;"><span style="font-family:arial, sans-serif;">In addition, we would also like to share a summary of the main themes that emerged during the 17 town hall consultation meetings. <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://trk.mmail.lst.fin.gov.on.ca/trk/click?ref=zr9uf3m5h_1-28eax33226x07109&"><i>The Co-ordinated Land Use Planning Review Summary Report on Town Hall Meetings is available for your review</i></a>.</span></span></div>
<div><span style="font-size:11pt;"><span style="font-family:arial, sans-serif;">The long-term prosperity and social wellbeing of Ontario depends upon planning for strong, sustainable and complete communities. The panel has recommended ways to better achieve our goals of growing healthy, livable and prosperous communities by keeping people and goods moving, creating jobs, combating the effects of climate change, protecting agricultural viability and expanding our green spaces. </span></span></div>
<div><span style="font-size:11pt;"><span style="font-family:arial, sans-serif;">Our government will consider the Advisory Panel’s recommendations as we develop proposed amendments to the plans. We will seek input on the proposed amendments in winter 2016. <div><span style="font-size:11pt;">Comme vous le savez, au printemps 2015, le ministère des Affaires municipales et du Logement et le ministère des Richesses naturelles et des Forêts ont entamé l’Examen coordonné du <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://trk.mmail.lst.fin.gov.on.ca/trk/click?ref=zr9uf3m5h_1-28eax3321ex07109&">Plan de croissance de la région élargie du Golden Horseshoe</a>, du <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://trk.mmail.lst.fin.gov.on.ca/trk/click?ref=zr9uf3m5h_1-28eax3321fx07109&">Plan d’aménagement de l’escarpement du Niagara</a>, du <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://trk.mmail.lst.fin.gov.on.ca/trk/click?ref=zr9uf3m5h_1-28eax33220x07109&">Plan de conservation de la moraine d’Oak Ridges</a> et du le <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://trk.mmail.lst.fin.gov.on.ca/trk/click?ref=zr9uf3m5h_1-28eax33221x07109&">Plan de la ceinture de verdure</a>.</span></div>

<div><span style="font-size:11pt;">La prospérité et le bien-être social de l’Ontario à long terme dépendent de l’aménagement de collectivités complètes, robustes et durables. Le Comité consultatif a recommandé différents moyens d’atteindre notre objectif à cet égard, et donc de bâtir des collectivités saines, prospères, où il fait bon vivre, et ce, en facilitant le transport des personnes et des marchandises, en créant des emplois, en luttant contre les effets du changement climatique, en préservant la viabilité de notre agriculture et en augmentant nos espaces verts.</span></div>
<div><span style="font-size:11pt;">Notre gouvernement tiendra compte des recommandations du Comité consultatif lors de l’élaboration des modifications qu’il proposera d’apporter aux plans.
