Let's go ahead with it. </div><div><br></div><div>I've been asked to be a Woolwich rep. at one of the Region's Strategic plan focus groups on May 4, focused on enviro matters, and limited, apparently, to a few people from each municipality. The other person from Woolwich is a Township staff person, and I expect most at the meeting will be municipal staff. So any ideas about what I might highlight there are welcome, since this meeting will likely take place before we can have the GREN gathering.</div><div><br></div><div>I'm soliciting ideas from some Woolwich folks so I don't just ride my own hobbyhorses. My own points would be 1) support for the ROP and fighting for it, as it protects water and farmland; 2) need to encourage and beef up initiatives for water efficiency; 3) need to encourage green infrastructure, especially in stormwater management, as we invest in upgrades. (There's funding and info available, but municipal staff don't always know that or seek it.) 4) need for the Region to push reuse/recycle opportunities as they review their waste management plan.</div><div><br></div><div>I'm putting together mini-briefs on each point. (Sounds like a form of underpants, yes?) This plan is the basis for the work that the council will do over the next four years. The staff offered to do a session for GREN to explain it to them and to receive input from all of us. What do you think of taking them up on that offer and planning to hold our May GREN meeting on this. I am sure they would hold it at the Region's Headquarters for access to their projector, etc. <div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">What do you think of us taking them up on the offer?
