My concern is that this event could have more of a political focus (attacking our current government) than an environmental focus. Granted the current government has had a dismal track record on the environment, however, I don't believe that we should side with or against any particular political party as we will need to work with them all at some point or another. </div><div><br></div><div>I also wouldn't want GREN to fall into the current governments crosshairs like the KW Field Naturalists did earlier this year and become the subject of intense Revenue Canada auditing or for us to be seen as biased for or against any particular political faction. I believe that we need to focus on solutions and build broad community action on the environment rather than attack individuals or political groups. There are lots of political parties and action groups in Waterloo region already, however there aren't many diverse, credible environmental organizations working on the wide number of solutions required with everyone in the community.</div><div><br></div><div>Cheers,</div><div>Kevin.</div><div><br></div><div>

Step 2: Give people 24 hours to make comments to the whole membership group if they so wish<br>
<br>
Step 3: Cut off discussion and call for a vote. To keep some confidentiality around the vote, only send their vote to me and I will be sworn to not tell others how individuals voted. I won’t participate in the discussion over the previous 24 hours to make them more comfortable with sending their vote to me.<br>
<br>
Does that sound fine to everyone? How long should we give people to vote?<br>
<br>
I need to look up our minutes from our early meetings to check on what percent vote in favour has to be achieved to pass. I think it was around 2/3rds, but don’t quote me on that. I have to check it.<br>
