She had 76 good healthy years and didn’t even have a family doctor until I moved in to care for her and my dad this past August. Hard to believe only a week ago today, she was sitting up in bed knitting up a storm. I even went out that day and got her some more wool for the afghan she was making. But happy to say that my mom taught my youngest niece to knit and she was quite pleased to take home the project and will complete it in her own way. <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>I’ll still be in Toronto mostly for some time, with my father who’s 85 and in the early stages of dementia, working out what we will do. We have space for him at home, but I’m not entirely sure if that’s what we’ll do. Our oldest son is still on his work term in Toronto and also living at my parents’ home, so he’ll need to be there until at least mid-December. <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Anyway, I thought I’d forward the obit I wrote for my mom. All we have now are many, many happy memories of dress-up, theme birthday parties, “let’s make a deal” Christmas Eve bartering and dinners and so much more. Mary was loved by everyone who met her. Family was central as was her love of the hunt for bargains, which she so generously shared with all of us. Love you and miss you. <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Interment of Mary’s ashes will be shared by her immediate family.
